About Leafstone
Leafstone is the partnership of Oliver and James, two Stroud-born locals driven by a shared ethos of sustainable living and high-quality craftsmanship. Friends since our teenage years, we have collaborated on projects for over a decade before establishing Leafstone to bring a fresh, multi-disciplinary approach to construction in the Five Valleys.
The Creative & The Technical Our strength lies in our combined backgrounds.
James brings a technical, engineering mindset to the build. With training from the Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) in Wales, he specialises in the rigorous application of eco-building methods and structural problem-solving.
Oliver brings a trained aesthetic eye. As a former illustrator and graphic designer, he ensures that visual balance and finish are never sacrificed for function.
Authentic Sustainability Green building isn’t just a service we offer; it is a lifestyle we understand. We both spent time living and working on a sustainable co-housing project in Cornwall, which gave us firsthand experience in converting period buildings to modern energy efficient standards. This background allows us to offer practical, honest advice on materials and efficiency that fits the Rural landscape.
Collaboration & Technical Liaison We manage a trusted network of local specialists and liaise directly with structural engineers. We handle all technical coordination, acting as your single point of contact to ensure a seamless build.
